How Far is it to Heaven? 11 x 14 pastel
Abandoned 16 x 20 pastel
Majestic 16 x 20 pastel
One of my favorite locations to paint is the Orphan Mesa at Ghost Ranch. As the title of this painting suggests, the mesa is majestic, strong, and constant. Its personalty and character changes with the angle of the view. Such a dynamic work of nature!
Neighbors 9 x 12 pastel
Set in Tuscany, this pastel captures the feeling of distance in the vast countryside of the area around Greve. I like to imagine myself living in one of these villas and waking to a misty morning just like this.
Sunrise, Three Sisters Mountain 14 x 11 pastel
Located in the southernmost part of New Mexico, the Three Sisters Mountain has a distinct personality that commands awe and respect. At sunrise, clouds have filled the sky to pay homage to the sisters.
Near Ghost Ranch 9 x 12 acrylic
If you haven't noticed, Ghost Ranch is one of my frequent destinations to paint. This is on the road to the monastery and offers a wonderful taste of northern New Mexico.
Echo Amphitheater II 12 x 18 pastel
This is a view from the Echo Amphitheater near Ghost Ranch. The lighting is typical of a late afternoon in the fall—my favorite season to paint in this area.
Falling Water 18 x 12 pastel
The Overlook in the city of White Rock has provided much inspiration for me. This is yet another view of the phenomenal panorama located in this northern New Mexico mountain town. Being a desert dweller, I am especially fond of the waterfall at the center of this piece.
Rising Cliffs 9 x 12 pastel
On a road trip with my husband in northern New Mexico, I was captivated by this scene outside the car window. I just had time to snap this shot to remind me of its beauty. I wanted to capture the imposing cliff rising out of the landscape against the calm and serene sky.
Tetilla Peak at Dawn 16 x 20 pastel
Old Friends 12 x 9 pastel
I was passing through Galway on the way to a bread and breakfast when I came across this scene. Every Sunday, this Irishman arrives with bread in hand for his coterie of comrades. As you can see, he has befriended a rather interesting swan!
